The angling in the Andaman Islands
is nothing short of spectacular. These are the most fertile fishing
grounds you can imagine.
The area is so vast (8,249 sq. Km) that most of it
is still unexplored. By virtue of its position, the Islands receive a
continuous south / south west current which brings with it plenty
of baitfish as well as Black Marlin, Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Yellowfin
Tuna, Dogtooth Tuna and Dorado.
You can pursue virtually every method of blue water fishing with
exceptional results. Troll for Marlin and other pelagic species off the
1000-2000 m drop-offs on the east and west coast. Go popping for Giant
Trevally and Coral Trout or go jigging for world record size Tuna. You
can also go night fishing for Giant Grouper, Snappers, Swordfish and
Shark.
The Andaman’s has always been one the word’s best-kept secrets because
of its geographic location and inaccessibility. It is this very fact
apart from the total ban on commercial fishing that makes it the last
undiscovered angling paradise. Come discover it for yourself.
